Crieff Hydro, Perthshire
Crieff Hydro is a Spa Hotel and resort in Perthshire, Scotland. It's set in over 900 acres of grounds and has been a destination for relaxation, recuperation, fun and adventure for over 150 years.
At the outer edge of the estate lies the Action Glen area, packed with different activities for the nature-loving adrenaline junkie such as Quad Biking, Segway Tours and a Treetop Adventure Course. There was an opportunity to offer more fun for the younger adventurer, and this is where CAP.CO were asked to help.
Crieff Hydro Inspired Adventuring
The new adventure play space at the centre of the park will be an impressive timber structure, echoing the imposing architectural elements of Crieff Hydro itself, giving children and visitors an exciting alternative experience of the historical building.
Set over three levels, the play structures will be packed with fun elements - crawl tunnels, ladders, lookout towers and also sensory play features which run within the building's outer walls. Accessible via climbing walls, clamber nets, ladders and ramps, the design allows adventurers to choose from varying routes through the structure. Take the slides from different levels for different levels of adventure, then swoop back down to the ground so the fun can start again. At ground level is a range of trim trail elements including balance beams, rope walks and stepping stones to set the scene.
The team are on site now and well underway with the build, so we will reveal more over the next few weeks.
