Sustainability Policy

1. Introduction

At CAP.CO, sustainability is integral to our mission of creating adventurous places that respect and enhance the natural and social environments in which we operate. This policy outlines our commitment to sustainable practices across all aspects of our business.

2. Environmental Stewardship

We are dedicated to:

Reducing Waste: Implementing strategies to minimise waste water, energy and materials through accurate estimation, promoting reduction and reuse, and improving recycling practices.

Sustainable Sourcing: Prioritising materials from sustainable sources, especially timber, and actively avoiding products from prohibited or dubious origins.

Energy Efficiency: Enhancing energy efficiency in our operations and increasing the use of renewable energy sources where possible.

Carbon Neutrality: Aiming to achieve Net Zero GHG emissions for Scope 1 and 2 by 2040, and offsetting residual emissions through programs that align with our values and mission.

Reuse: Where practicable, we will aim to reuse existing elements on a site and those that we hold in stock.

3. Sustainable Procurement

As per our Sustainable Procurement Policy, our procurement practices focus on:

Local Sourcing: Whenever possible, sourcing materials and labour locally to reduce transportation emissions and the support local economies in which we are working.

Supplier Engagement: Working with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability, ensuring they adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct.

Material Selection: Choosing materials that are durable, recyclable, and have low environmental impact, including low-VOC and non-toxic options.

4. Community and Social Responsibility

We strive to:

Support Local Communities: Employing local labour and engaging with community stakeholders to ensure our projects benefit the areas in which we work.

Promote Equality and Inclusion: Adhering to our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy to foster a respectful and inclusive workplace.

Health and Wellbeing: Ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees and stakeholders through proactive measures and policies.

5. Continuous Improvement

We are committed to:

Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly assessing our sustainability performance and publicly reporting our progress.

Employee Engagement: Providing training and resources to our team to promote sustainable practices throughout our operations.

Policy Review: Reviewing and updating this policy annually to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with current best practices.
