Pine Tree Tower at Scarborough Hill Country Inn Hotel

Our youngest CAP.CO members visited a fantastic little project we built back in 2019. Whilst being one of our smaller jobs over the years, it's packed full of charm, tucked beneath an old majestic pine tree.

The design draws inspiration from within the hotel gardens, drawing inspiration from the variety of incredible trees in the grounds. The finished play structures celebrate and embrace the natural setting, enriching the experience for children, families and all visitors to enjoy together.

The design process

Created around the beautiful Scots pine tree on the edge of the lawn, this play feature offers a lookout over the beautiful gardens. Within view of the main building, it is packed with exciting features for both toddlers and older ones to play and enjoy together. The aesthetic is playful and rustic with bespoke finishing details, creating the magical sense of a miniature dwelling with shingles, windows for peeking and lots more.

This new play tower offers climbing, sliding, jumping, peeking, hiding, balancing and much more. Find yourself on the deck via the stepping stones or by climbing the ladder. The main deck is centred around an incredible pine tree; the deck has multiple levels providing a place to sit or continue your adventure. Travel over the arched bridge into the tower or through the Fairy door and down the slide. There are two different routes up to the tower from ground level, either wind your way up the spiral staircase or climb the net straight onto the top deck! From beneath the spire roof, you can peek through little windows into the far away distance

Background

Scarborough Hill has for many years, had a reputation as a destination for high end experiences, and this play space is designed to complement that ethos.

Located near North Walsham in North Norfolk, the hotel is set within six acres, offering an idyllic country getaway.
