Soft Launch of the Roderick Dhu inspired Scenic Tower & Viewpoints

Loch Katrine

Enjoying the view from the Lookout Tower at Roderick Dhu 2

Around 4 years ago now, we were tasked with creating a bespoke adventurous place with minimal impact on the local environment, inspired by the story of the original Roderick Dhu watch tower.
This specific location at Loch Katrine in Scotland, was used as a viewing point in the 1700s to warn notorious outlaw and clan chief Rob Roy MacGregor of advancing Redcoats seeking his capture.
So the 31st of July was a big day for us as Building Control signed off the recently completed Scenic Lookout Tower & Viewpoints, which meant that it could be opened immediately to the general public.
There will, of course, be an official opening in the next few weeks, but the lack of fanfare and gentle nature of this soft opening just seemed to suit the whole project. The finished Lookout Tower at Roderick Dhu by CAP.CO During the afternoon, there was a steady flow of curious visitors making the short journey up to the tower with some excellent feedback being received by the local team.
As you can see from the images, it was helped by the stunning weather and of course the incredible view this new adventurous place enables - opening up a previously inaccessible area for visitors to the birthplace of Scottish tourism to experience and enjoy.
