In some rather mammoth news, we're incredibly proud to announce that The Cove at Royal Museums Greenwich, designed and built by CAP.Co, has been recognized in the Blooloop Global Innovation Awards in the Inclusive category.
A genuinely brave client, loads of consultation with the amazing Willow Dene School produced a play space we are all so, so proud of and will be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages and abilities for many years to come.
The consultation work with the awesome team at Willow Dene taught us loads and the advice and insights they gave us had a huge impact on the design of the play. Steve Vass, who designed the Cove said "It will genuinely change the way we look at inclusive design going forwards."
If you want to really understand why inclusive play matters, you need to read the speech given by Lisa Parascandolo at the launch event. You can find that here. But here was Lisa's sign off line
"We can fight prejudices about disability by being out in the community and by being seen. Though we might look and sound different we are still children, who love to play. And now they have a place in our community that they helped create and it is beautiful."
